To ensure success for all students in today's increasingly diverse schools, teachers must have a new knowledge and skill set. Unfortunately, not all teachers do. This interactive session will highlight four categories of teachers and how effective each type of teacher is in working with culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse students. A process for identifying the most culturally responsive teachers during the hiring phase will be presented along with strategies for supporting and retaining such teachers.
