This session will focus on national trends surrounding recruitment and retention of talented principals. Participants will examine five recent, highly funded studies on the issue of principal shortage and their implications for building viable administrative workforces. The presenters will analyze the studies' results in light of several districts' urgency to meet the demand for highly qualified building-level administrators. The session will outline eight replicable factors for retaining and attracting school principals.
