This interactive and multimedia presentation will encourage participants to reflect on the results of seven case studies to determine possible solutions for the identified obstacles to place-based education. The case studies provide the foundation of how teacher candidates perceive the obstacles to integrating community, personal experiences, local values, culture, and the ecosystem into their curricula. The presenters will discuss the importance of place-based education in the development of contextualized meaningful learning.
