This session will present a leadership model focused on improving young adolescent literacy. Grounded in research and theory, the model provides school and district leaders with a process to implement a comprehensive and coordinated literacy plan. 26,12 is essential to each component of the model and includes topics such as leadership, student motivation and engagement, literacy knowledge, data-based decision making, capacity building, coaching, interventions for struggling readers and writers, and literacy-rich environments.
