This session will present a framework for understanding the factors contributing to student success in high school. The presenters have identified 11 research-validated principles of successful secondary students. These focus on learning strategies and study skills to enhance academic competence, as well as strategies for developing behavioral competence and social skills. The principles assure that students will become pilots of, not passengers in, their educational destiny.
