The K-2 Project brings together general education and special education teachers in kindergarten through 2nd grade to assist students in greatest need of literacy development. After three years of implementation, the project has reduced the number of referrals and placements of special education students and has instilled in students sufficient literacy skills to reach and maintain grade-level competency. This session will demonstrate the professional development and collaboration required to generate such positive results.
