This multimedia session will offer specific "how to" information about an innovative, effective in-school suspension (ISS) model designed to positively modify student behavior, reduce discipline referrals and dropouts, and increase student achievement and graduation rates. The model, which features a behavioral rubric as the assessment tool, creates a structured classroom environment where the ISS student is taught through methods of self-empowerment and responsibility. Handouts will be included.
