Every state has plenty of people with the credentials to become a principal. The dilemma is that no state has enough people with the talent or desire to lead schools to excellence. With the principal's leadership second only to teaching among factors affecting student achievement, districts can't afford to rely on an inconsistent pool of self-selected candidates to fill vacancies. Based on the book Staffing the Principalship, this session will offer a structured, adaptable, easy, and economically feasible approach for installing an administrative career ladder.
