An enriched, research-based dual language program works to ensure that all students reach high levels of academic achievement. It also closes the achievement gap among all student populations, especially English language learners. This overview will address the components of the successful and effective dual language program in the Ysleta Independent School District (Texas). The presenters will provide research and focus on the successes and challenges of implementing a program that prepares children to enter the global society.
