This session's presenters will share research-based principles for English language learner (ELL) success in high school. Through multimedia and interactive activities, participants from districts with ELL populations will understand how to design ELL programs and build master schedules, explore alternate graduation pathways and common misconceptions regarding English learners, and learn about two innovative ELL practices--the WRITE Institute (Writing Reform Institute for Teaching Excellence) and the PROMISE Initiative (Pursuing Regional Opportunities for Mentoring, Innovation, and Success for English Learners).
