Oddly enough, to reach a goal you have to under-plan, not over-plan. You have to leave room for necessary and inevitable adjustments based on who students are and the results from formative assessments. So, what follows for curriculum, course syllabus, and unit design? How does one properly plan to adjust? Drawing upon the work in Schooling by Design, Grant Wiggins will provide a model for how to write curriculum and do planning that honors the reality of schooling and learning—needed adjustments along the way.
